For the past several months, we, along with the rest of the Alexandria Stylebook team, have been working hard on a Fall 2014 Lookbook. And it just went live this morning! We could not be more excited. 20 pages of clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags, furniture and our favorite fall beauty products too! Our goal was to put something together that would give you a sense of what you can find in our stores but also something that would inform and inspire your style this fall and winter. Below is one of the looks that I wore, but to see the complete lookbook, head on over to www.AlexandriaStylebook.com.
I am wearing a printed top from Kiskadee and black denim from Coco Blanca. Actually, both stores have a great denim selection! The jewelry is mostly Asha (of course) and Alexis Bittar (again, of course) from The Shoe Hive. The earrings are by new-to-the-Hive designer Heather Benjamin. Her work is incredible. The shoes I’m wearing are some of our favorites from Stuart Weitzman. But for those of you who are comfortable wearing stilettos, the printed fur and mesh booties by DVF pictured on the right are crazy good.
It has been a year since the launch of Alexandria Stylebook, and we cannot believe how far we have come. Every day, we have readers come into The Shoe Hive and tell us that they read Stylebook, love Stylebook, and most importantly find it helpful! We are so grateful to every single one of our readers–you!–for getting us to the one-year mark. So, we’ve come up with a little something to say thank you:
We are giving away a head-to-toe makeover to one lucky reader. The winning prize includes, $100 to Coco Blanca, $100 to The Shoe Hive, $100 to Kiskadee, $100 to Zoe Boutique, a makeup application and lesson from Bellacara (with a gift card so you can leave with your favorites), AND a cut and color by Bazzak Salon!!
So, how do you enter? It’s simple. If you have subscribed to the Stylebook emails, you have already entered. Congratulations!
But we have a lot of readers, so we’ve devised a way to help you get an edge on everyone else. For every subscriber whom you refer to us, you will get an additional entry. For example, if you tell your coworker to subscribe, here’s what she needs to do to:
1. Subscribe to our emails at http://www.AlexandriaStylebook.com.
2. Reply to the Stylebook email she receives the following morning.
3. Type in your name (the person who referred her) and hit send.
Every time we get an email from a new subscriber with your name in it, you will get another entry…one more chance to win the Stylebook makeover!
Thank you all for making Stylebook what it is, and we look forward to another great year. We will announce the winner on June 1. Good luck!
Just as we have finally overcome our figurative (or literal) holiday hangover, it’s already time to think about what you’re going to wear for that climactic moment known as New Year’s Eve. Once you’ve selected an outfit that outdoes even last year’s, you’ll need good shoes–no, great shoes–for the big night.
So, we’ve selected seven of the best shoes to ring in the New Year: They’re beautiful, not so impossible to wear, and will look equally stunning with that dress or tuxedo pants (I’m very into them right now) next week as they will polishing up your day look in 2014. Head over to Alexandria Stylebook today to see the complete slideshow, including a snakeskin platform pump to glittery sneakers, and prepare to ring in the New Year.
We are getting ready for another photo shoot for Alexandria Stylebook tonight, and it can be a stressful process. As our models are real people, they have busy schedules and are often not able to try on and pick looks prior to arriving. We pull as much as possible–of course keeping in mind the model’s personal style preferences and sizes–and just keep our fingers crossed that it all comes together. Thus far, it has come together beautifully every single time.
I can’t tell you yet who our model is (pictures will be posted to our Facebook page later this evening) but she wears clothes beautifully and has a lot of personality in front of the camera. That relieves a little of the pressure. Also, we have officially transitioned to pre-fall and fall which means we have plenty of options in her size. Toward the end of summer, as our sale product flew out of the store, we had much less to choose from. So, keeping in mind that I will likely arrive at the studio tonight with 15+ pairs of shoes and bags of jewelry, here’s my starting point:
The Clayton by Aerin is one of my favorite styles this fall. It doesn’t get more versatile than this. The boot is slimming, and the heel height is comfortable yet flattering to everyone.
We keep bringing the Lillian by Vera Wang Lavender back because it’s just that good. We typically photograph our models in heels (their choice) but having options and variety is important at photo shoots. This luxurious ballet slipper will definitely be making the ride to the studio tonight.
I don’t know that we’ll do a riding boot just yet (still too warm to think about it), but again, I have to have options. Our classic Kiernan by Tory Burch is likely the only one I’ll bring though. Especially since I already have Aerin’s Clayton.
Finally, I always bring a “back-up” shoe–the one pair that will go with anything, look good on everyone, and work for any time of night or day. That’s the Vince Camuto Margarita in black.
What do you think? Is there another pair you think I should bring from our fall and pre-fall collections?
Last week, we selected 5 sale must-haves that are both versatile and special. This week, we collaborated with our Alexandria Stylebook partners to pair these must-have styles with clothing that is available at both Zoe Boutique and Kiskadee, with a few must-have beauty products from Bellacara thrown in too. Here’s what we came up with:
