As many of you have noticed, there are lots of new faces at The Shoe Hive lately. One of them is our new manager, Christen Kinard. You might have seen her around Old Town either helping out at Zoe Boutique some during the winter, or at The Shoe Hive when she started bringing my store and many others in Old Town out of the stone age in our social media efforts with her business, Social Shop Media.
As they say, timing is everything, and when Lyndsay was ready to have her baby Christen decided she might want to scale back her business and have a job that wasn’t 24/7. The rest is history.
A lover of fashion, Christen has her own distinct style. Her style runs the gamut from vintage print maxi dresses to sleek and modern pieces from The Row. She obviously has always loved shoes and accessories. Long gone, however, are the days of always wearing heels. In a cruel twist of fate, high heels aren’t the most practical footwear when you are on your feet all day at a shoe store so her heels have been replaced with some more sensible shoes like Supergas and her new favorite line, AGL.
Besides not being afraid to push the envelope when it comes to her outfits you never know what hair style you might find. Blessed with facial features that allow her to pull off anything, she recently cut her hair in a Robin Wright style pixie with pink highlights. Let’s just say not many folks have the bone structure to make that one work.
We weren’t the only ones to take note of her impeccable style. Northern Virginia Magazine featured her in this month’s edition of their magazine.
