Another year, another Black Friday. And this one is going to be good! As usual, we open at 6am and then entire store is 30% off. This includes Frye boots, Hunter boots and some of our jewelry which never goes on sale. The 30% discount extends to 8 am after which the discounts decrease (details below).
Yes, there is somewhat of a rush in the beginning as it is the ideal time for most of you to do your holiday shopping, so we recommend getting ahead of the game. Come in and pick out what you are going to purchase beforehand (we’re open today and tomorrow). Make a list of exact styles, sizes, and colors. You will likely not have a chance to browse at your leisure if you join us first thing in the morning. Still, the discounts are worth it.
NEW this year: Bittersweet Cafe will be handing out free coffee to our shoppers between 6 and 8 am. Just another reason to get there early!
Once you’ve hit up the Hive, pay a visit to the other stores in the area participating in this city-wide event. There are tons of deals to be had.
See you later this week and in the meantime, I hope you have a really wonderful Thanksgiving!
The Frye Company started in 1863 in Massachusetts, with John Frye and his vision to construct simple shoes to supply to factory workers. Fast forward 150 years, The Frye Company has provided workers to fashionistas signature boots that are made to last and make a statement. Some of my favorite boots are Frye. I find their boots so practical and durable yet they are still stylish. Worn with cotton dresses, skinny jeans (tucked in of course), or leggings, I opt for a pair at least twice a week.
The classic Harness boot that “holds a treasured place in American culture,” and the CAMPUS™ boot have epitomized style throughout decades. The CAMPUS™ boot was even donated to the Smithsonian in 1975 as a representation of the era.
From city streets to farms across America, Frye boots are here to stay. It’s hard to find boots that last year after year and never go out of style, so if you are looking for an investment, choose Frye.
Heather Hawkins’ jewelry is quintessential California cool. She has spent her career traveling around the world which has inspired her aesthetic, such as rooftops in Italy and seashells she has collected from all over. Heather became a designer after damaging one of her handbags and trying to wash it; she then discovered how it was assemble and redesigned it. Her inspiration and curiosity catapulted her own line of handbags, belts, and jewelry which are now sold all over the country in small shops and department stores. Featured in InStyle, Lucky Magazine, and worn by celebrities alike, Heather’s pieces are uniquely designed and compliment any outfit.
We are thrilled to have Heather’s pieces be featured in a trunk show starting today! The trunk show will be through Sunday and specialty pieces will be available. The best part, you will receive 20% off with your trunk show purchase which is ideal for holiday shopping!
She really is major. Some of my favorite pieces are her necklaces. This trunk show will have gemstone necklaces and horn pendants which are great everyday items to add to your jewelry collection. Also her stone necklaces are a great alternative to a charm or simple pendant. Layered or worn alone, her pieces can transform any t-shirt or elongate your neck when worn with a shift dress or sweater. Throw on a pair of her stone drop earrings to complete your outfit, and while you’re at it, pick up a few pieces for your best girlfriends.
It’s no secret that I love jewelry. I have many pieces that I have collected over the years. A ring set that belonged to my grandmother, a small diamond necklace my mom bought me for my sixteenth birthday, and various trinkets that I have bought while traveling. Although I have many small everyday pieces, I try to incorporate one statement piece into my outfit to play up my simple items. My go-to statement piece is the necklace. Whether it is layered gold chains, an understated choker, or bold jewels, I love a good necklace. I like to wear these necklaces over t-shirts, sweaters, and with dresses, and this way I can keep the rest simple. Some of my favorite statement necklaces are by Gerard Yosca. His pieces are beautifully crafted and make a statement without being too in-your-face. To me, simple always means elegance, and Yosca’s necklaces are my go-to on any day.
I make a concerted effort to provide a range of shoes that will appeal to women of all ages, fashions and lifestyles. But what concerns me most (aside from what will sell, of course) is providing a balance of shoes that are on trend and of forever-shoes. Forever-shoes are the the kind that you can not only wear for many seasons but also proudly pull out of your closet in 20 years to show your granddaughter.
This is one of the reasons I am in love with the shoes we have in store currently by Aerin. All of them are of superior quality, and hit a trend note without screaming “fashionista,” which is not particularly a compliment in my book.
The Alimar is the most elegant flat you will ever encounter without being “stuffy” or over-the-top. Do yourself a favor and pair it with equally elegant and classic pieces such as a cozy wrap sweater and high-waisted black pants. Our Leroy bag by Kooba is the Alimar’s ideal complementary accessory.
On a more casual note, the Colworth booties are perfection. The suede is luxurious. The color rich and versatile. I’ve selected pieces here that are colorful but not bright, topped with a cape–this season’s must-have outerwear.
The Sullivan quickly became a customer favorite once it appeared on our shelves and for very good reason. The sexiest of the bunch, feel free to “bring it” when rocking this pump: waxed denim, Elizabeth and James sunnies, and a jacket with leather accents do it justice.

This is why we love the 50/50 and why we love Kate Moss. Happy Friday, everyone!
