Apparel at The Shoe Hive

In addition to carrying Sheridan French tunics and shorts this season, we also picked up a slew of Ali Ro anoraks in bright colors and neutrals for the spring. They have been a huge hit thus far! The folks at Ali Ro sent over some how-to-wear-it looks for us to show you:

AnorkasWe have the taupe, red and mint in the store now. And yes, I would like to own every single one of these outfits. But I have one problem with the selection: they all sort of look alike. In my (not-so-humble) opinion, these anoraks are much more versatile than these images would have you think. Wearing one with an over-the-knee dress or skirt is great, but you could do so much more!

Call me crazy, but I would not shy away from wearing more color with the poppy red one. Dress it up a bit with a pair of printed trousers (very “in” right now), our Tory Burch Alta wedge and some sequins. Of course, if you’re not feeling very adventurous, a white tee, solid trousers and lower wedge would work too.

If you’re still not digging the bold color, the taupe anorak is a timeless staple. In fact, I own several taupe anoraks and wear them all the time! Keep it casual and simple with other soft neutrals (some cashmere, perhaps?) and denim. These lace Bettye Muller espadrilles are out-of-this-world good.

As I was putting this look together for the mint anorak, I definitely gravitated toward mid-thigh skirts too, but try something with a little volume, something with pockets. It might seem crazy (I’m pretty sure that’s the second time I’ve used that word in one post. Oy.) to you to wear such different shades of the same color together, but it can work as long as your other pieces remain neutral and your accessories are simple like our Tkees flip flops.

Finally, since we’re on a how-to-wear-it kick, I thought I’d also share this image courtesy of TKO in light of our TKO watches trunk show this weekend! (And check out that anorak. See? We’re on to something.)
